Colours of Kyoto
Unframed limited edition signed and numbered lino print.
Print area 170 x 135mm. Print run 18. Printed on Winsor and Newton smooth cartridge paper 150gsm.
Imagine an idyllic scene: a rustic setting in Japan, tranquil music, richly coloured, lengths of silk fluttering in a gentle breeze as they dry. Well this is what I saw when my friend Marie shared a fascinating video clip of the traditional process of silk dying. This is where the image of Colours of Kyoto came from. There is no way I could recreate the spectrum of colours that they made, but I have tried to suggest this by overlaying colours. The patterns suggest a sense of cultural Japanese provenance.
I was going to post the clip for you - but sadly it is no longer available.
Due to the nature of hand printing there will be some differences between prints.
Free shipping for UK. Please allow 3 - 10 days. Please contact me for shipping outside the UK.
