Allium Blush

£30.00

Unframed limited edition signed and numbered lino print.

Print area 260 x 78mm. Print run 12. Printed on Winsor and Newton smooth cartridge paper 150gsm.

I have some tiny alliums in my garden - I don’t know which variety they are but they are fascinating. When the flower head starts to form it is a beautiful shade of lime green and very slowly it turns purple - a horizontal line of colour slowly working it’s way down from the tip of the flower, like paint seeping through damp paper, until the whole flower becomes purple. It reminds me of a cartoon character facing extreme embarrassment - but in reverse! I’ve used a translucent green to help show this transition and the blue is made with an imprint plate to suggest the campanula in the distance.

Due to the nature of hand printing there will be some minor differences between prints.
