Contemporary mixed media artwork
Imagination allows us to travel to places beyond our physical reach. I am a mixed media artist who creates contemporary pieces, which are a visual interpretation of memories or experiences, born out of an experimental approach in the use of materials, processes and variation in colour palettes.

Welcome to my studio…
About me
I am an experimental mixed media artist working from my own studio in Cambridgeshire. My early career was as a graphic artist, having graduated with BA Hons in Graphic Design from Middlesex Polytechnic in 1986; a foundation which I think continues to influence my current stylised work. I worked primarily as a packaging designer until 1997, developing brands for high street names such as Marks and Spencer and Boots. Following this I became a primary school teacher where I was the art subject lead. I was delighted to achieve Artsmark gold status for my school, raising the profile of the arts in a difficult political climate. I have been working as a full-time artist since 2023
My work
My inspiration is taken from the natural world as both experience and memory. I create a visual interpretation through a combination of abstract shapes, marks and gestures. Colour plays an integral part in my work, specifically how different colour pallets work together - leading me to investigate translucency and layering, often suspending images to achieve interesting effects and shadows. This exploration has led to my current work having a sense of strength and fragility co-existing.
Exhibitions
I have shown my work in a number of group exhibitions: Aka Contemporary Cambridge (spring and winter shows 2024), Babylon Arts (2024), St John’s Innovation Centre (2024), The Wisbech Gallery (2024) Art@One (Spring and autumn shows 2024 and 2025), Haddenham Arts (2025) and Stapleford Granary (2025). I am a member of Cambridge Open Studios and have taken part in the annual exhibition since 2022.
I have also been involved in co-curating Art@one since its inception in 2024, an exciting new venture for promoting and showcasing local artists and bringing creativity to the local community. This has further developed into projects collaborating with schools where I have designed activities for the children and led the visits.
